Array & List Sorter / Shuffler

Paste a newline list, CSV row, or JSON array to sort (alphabetical, natural, numeric, or by length), deduplicate, reverse, or shuffle via Fisher-Yates CSPRNG.

About This Tool

Accepts a newline-separated list, a comma-separated list, or a JSON array, then sorts, deduplicates, reverses, or shuffles the items and formats the result as lines, CSV, or JSON.

Shuffling uses the unbiased Fisher-Yates algorithm backed by crypto.getRandomValues so every permutation is equally likely.

Key Features

  • Auto-detected input & multi-format output: Paste lines, CSV, or a JSON array and export the processed list as newline text, RFC-4180 CSV, or formatted/minified JSON.
  • 10 sort & order operations: Alphabetical (A-Z / Z-A), Natural sort (file2 before file10), Numeric sort, String length sort, Reverse, and Fisher-Yates Shuffle.
  • Deduplication & trimming: Remove duplicate items (case-insensitive or case-sensitive), trim whitespace, and drop blank lines.
  • Cryptographic Fisher-Yates shuffle: Randomizes item order using rejection-sampled crypto.getRandomValues instead of Math.random().

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Alphabetical, Natural, and Numeric sort?
Alphabetical compares character code by character code (so "file10" comes before "file2"). Natural sort compares embedded numbers by value (so "file2" comes before "file10"). Numeric sort parses each item as a signed floating-point number (so -5 comes before 3 and 20.5).
Why use Fisher-Yates instead of array.sort(() => Math.random() - 0.5)?
Sorting with a random comparator produces heavily biased permutations that depend on the JavaScript engine sort implementation, and Math.random() is not cryptographically strong. Fisher-Yates with rejection-sampled crypto.getRandomValues visits each index once and gives every permutation equal probability.
Is my list uploaded anywhere?
No. All parsing, sorting, deduplicating, and shuffling run locally in your browser.
