JSON to Table
Renders a JSON array of objects as a live, visual HTML table right on this page, then lets you copy the same data as a Markdown table, TSV (paste straight into Excel/Sheets), or raw HTML. Nothing leaves your browser.
Paste a JSON array of objects to see a live table here.
About This Tool
Sometimes you need to actually look at tabular JSON, not just convert it, check whether columns line up,
spot a missing field, or eyeball values before committing to a format. This tool renders a live HTML
<table> from a JSON array of objects right on the page: the header row is the union of
every object's keys, each row is aligned to that header list, and a missing key just shows an empty cell.
Once it looks right, copy it in whichever format you need next: Markdown for docs, TSV to paste directly into a spreadsheet cell grid, or raw HTML to drop into a web page. For a copy-paste-into-docs workflow without the live preview, see JSON to Markdown instead.
Key Features
- Live visual preview: renders as an actual HTML table on this page, not just text output.
- Three copy formats: Markdown table, tab-separated values (TSV), or raw HTML, all from the same data.
- Union-of-keys header: the header row covers every key across all objects, in first-appearance order.
- Missing keys handled: a row missing a given key shows an empty cell instead of erroring.
- Non-primitive values inlined: nested objects/arrays in a cell are inlined via
JSON.stringify. - Spreadsheet-ready TSV: paste directly into a cell in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers and it lands in the right columns.
Example
[
{ "name": "Ada", "age": 30 },
{ "name": "Grace", "role": "dev" }
] renders a 3-column table (name, age, role) with Ada's missing role and Grace's missing age shown as empty cells, copyable as Markdown, TSV, or HTML.
FAQ
- What's the difference between this and JSON to Markdown's table mode?
- This tool shows a live, rendered HTML table you can visually check on the page, and copies it in three formats (Markdown, TSV, HTML). JSON to Markdown only produces Markdown source text, with no visual preview, use that one when you just want the Markdown to paste.
- Can I paste the TSV output into Excel or Google Sheets?
- Yes, copy as TSV, then paste into a single cell. Tab-separated values land in the correct adjacent columns the way a real spreadsheet paste works.
- Does it handle nested JSON?
- It expects a flat array of objects for rows and columns. A nested object or array inside a cell is inlined via
JSON.stringifyrather than expanded into further columns. - What if objects have different keys?
- The header row covers the union of every object's keys. Any object missing a given key shows an empty cell for it in that row.
