About This Tool

The Image Cropper lets you trim any photo or graphic to an exact pixel rectangle or standard aspect ratio directly in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API.

You can drag across the interactive canvas to frame a region visually, or type exact X, Y, Width, and Height coordinates in pixels for sub-pixel-free keyboard precision. Export the cropped result as lossless PNG, or compressed JPEG and WebP with an adjustable quality slider.

Key Features

  • Aspect ratio presets: Switch between Free, 1:1 (Square), 16:9 (Widescreen), 4:3 (Standard), and 3:2 (Photo) ratios at any time.
  • Keyboard-friendly pixel inputs: Set X, Y, Width, and Height in exact source pixels, clamped automatically to the image boundaries.
  • Interactive canvas selection: Click and drag on the source canvas to draw or reposition the crop box with live rule-of-thirds guides.
  • PNG, JPEG & WebP export: Download the cropped image in your preferred format with configurable quality for lossy formats.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does cropping reduce the resolution of the kept area?
No. The cropped output canvas uses the exact source pixel dimensions (Width x Height) from your original image without rescaling.
How can I crop to an exact pixel box without dragging the mouse?
Set the Aspect Ratio to Free and type your desired X, Y, Width, and Height values directly into the numeric inputs. The crop preview updates immediately.
When does the Quality slider apply?
The Quality slider (10% to 100%) applies when exporting to JPEG or WebP. PNG is always lossless and ignores the quality setting.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. File decoding, canvas cropping, and image encoding all run locally inside your browser tab.
