UUID & NanoID Generator

Generate secure UUIDs (v4 and v7), NanoIDs, and CUIDs in bulk. 100% client-side with zero telemetry on generated IDs.

Private by architecture: All processing is 100% client-side memory. Your data never leaves this browser tab.

UUID v4 (Random)

Standard RFC 4122 format with 122 bits of true cryptographic entropy. Recommended default for general IDs.

Generated Identifiers

    About This Tool

Generates UUID v4 (random), UUID v7 (time-ordered), NanoID, or CUID identifiers in bulk, entirely client-side via crypto.randomUUID and crypto.getRandomValues. Select a format and quantity to regenerate instant batches for database primary keys, staging seed data, or test fixtures.

Generated identifiers never touch a server or remote API. All randomness is derived from the local operating system cryptographic entropy pool.

    Key Features

    • 4 ID standards: Generate UUID v4, UUID v7, 21-character NanoID, and collision-resistant CUIDs.
    • Batch generation: Generate from 1 to 100 identifiers simultaneously with one click.
    • Formatting controls: Toggle uppercase formatting and hyphen stripping without compromising randomness.
    • Single & bulk copy: Copy individual identifiers or export the entire newline-delimited batch.
    • Time-sortable v7: UUID v7 embeds current Unix epoch timestamp for optimized B-tree indexing.
    • Zero telemetry: Runs locally in browser memory with zero tracking or logging of generated IDs.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the practical difference between UUID v4 and UUID v7?
UUID v4 is entirely random. UUID v7 encodes a Unix millisecond timestamp in the leading bits, meaning newer records sort lexicographically after older ones. This dramatically reduces B-tree index fragmentation in PostgreSQL and MySQL.
How cryptographically random are the generated IDs?
Every identifier variant draws directly from crypto.randomUUID or crypto.getRandomValues in your browser, backed by your operating system kernel CSPRNG.
What are NanoID and CUID best used for?
NanoID produces compact 21-character URL-friendly strings using an alphanumeric and punctuation alphabet. CUID generates collision-resistant identifiers optimized for horizontal scale and distributed application clusters.
Do Uppercase and No Hyphens options alter identifier uniqueness?
No. They only reformat string presentation. The underlying 128-bit integer and entropy remain completely identical.
Are any generated identifiers logged or sent to an analytics service?
No. The generator executes exclusively in local browser memory. Zero identifiers are ever logged, sent, or saved to a server.
