About This Tool

Parses YAML configuration files, Kubernetes manifests, and CI workflows into an interactive collapsible tree so you can inspect deep structures without losing track of indentation.

Every node displays its inferred type (object, array, string, number, boolean, null) and full JSONPath expression with buttons to copy either the path or serialized value.

Key Features

  • Interactive collapsible tree: Expand or collapse individual objects and arrays, or toggle all nodes at once.
  • Key path & value copy: Click Path or Value on any tree node to copy its exact JSONPath (such as $.routes[0].host) or value.
  • Instant search filter: Filter nodes by key name, path, or scalar value while keeping parent context visible.
  • Line-level syntax diagnostics: Flags tab indentation, unclosed quotes, and invalid mapping lines with the exact line number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does YAML reject tab characters for indentation?
The YAML 1.2 specification forbids tab characters in indentation because different editors expand tabs to different column widths, making block nesting ambiguous. Replace leading tabs with spaces.
What path format does the Copy Path button use?
Paths use standard JSONPath notation starting with $ (for example $.database.port or $.servers[0].host), which works directly in jq, yq, and JSONPath evaluators.
Can I search by value as well as key name?
Yes. Typing into the filter box matches keys, full paths, and leaf scalar values case-insensitively, keeping ancestor nodes expanded so you can see where each match lives.
Are my YAML files uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing and tree rendering run locally in your browser.
