HAR File Viewer

Upload a .har export from DevTools, or paste its JSON directly. Every request in the log gets a row (method, URL, status, size, time). Click a row to inspect its full headers and body.

Private by architecture: All processing is 100% client-side memory. Your data never leaves this browser tab.

About This Tool

A HAR (HTTP Archive) file is the JSON export DevTools Network tab produces: one entry per request, carrying method, URL, status, timing, and full headers. This viewer parses that structure defensively (a HAR captured mid-load or trimmed by hand is still readable) and lays it out as a clear table.

Parsing happens entirely in your browser via JSON.parse: a HAR capture can contain sensitive cookies, auth headers, and full response bodies, so nothing in it is ever sent to a server. To turn the same file into an OpenAPI skeleton or a Markdown summary, see HAR to OpenAPI and HAR to Markdown.

Key Features

  • Upload or Paste: Drop a .har file, use the Upload button, or paste raw JSON directly.
  • Color-Coded Status: 2xx green, 3xx blue, 4xx/5xx red at an immediate glance.
  • Click-to-Expand Rows: Inspect full request and response headers plus raw or JSON formatted bodies.
  • Resilient Parsing: Captures missing optional fields (no content or headers array) still render smoothly.
  • Size and Timing Metrics: Spot slow latency or oversized network calls immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I export a .har file?
In Chrome/Firefox/Edge DevTools, open the Network tab, reproduce the requests, right-click the request list, and choose "Save all as HAR with content".
Why is a request's size showing 0?
Some HAR exports omit response.content.size for cached or failed requests. This viewer falls back to response.bodySize, but if both are absent in the capture, 0 is shown rather than a guess.
Does this show the request and response body?
Yes, when the HAR capture included it: request.postData.text and response.content.text in the expanded row.
Is my HAR file uploaded anywhere?
No. It is read and parsed with FileReader and JSON.parse entirely in your browser.
