SVG Optimizer & Minifier

Clean bloated SVG vectors exported from Figma, Illustrator, or Sketch. Strips editor garbage, metadata, and minifies path coordinates with zero server uploads.

Private by architecture: All processing is 100% client-side memory. Your data never leaves this browser tab.

Why Optimize SVGs?

Vector design software like Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and Inkscape embed substantial XML metadata, layer identifiers, preview coordinates, and editor namespaces that have zero visual rendering purpose in the browser.

⚡ Faster Page Loads

Minifying coordinate decimal places from 6 digits to 2 digits and removing unused XML headers routinely reduces SVG file sizes by 30% to 70%.

🧹 Cleaner Inline Code

Stripping Figma/Inkscape vendor tags makes inline SVGs dramatically easier to style, animate, and maintain in React or HTML components.

🔒 Complete Privacy

Brand assets, client logos, and vector illustrations are sanitized completely in your browser memory without cloud API roundtrips.

Key Features

  • Adjustable coordinate precision: round path d coordinates to 1 (aggressive), 2 (balanced), 3, or 4 decimal places.
  • Minified or pretty output: collapse to a single line for inline use, or keep indentation for readability.
  • Comment, metadata & doctype stripping: removes XML comments and <metadata> blocks left behind by export tools; the XML declaration and DOCTYPE header are always removed.
  • Editor namespace cleanup: strips vendor-specific attributes and namespace declarations from Sketch, Inkscape, Sodipodi, Vectornator, and Illustrator.
  • Live before/after size stats: shows original size, optimized size, and percentage reduction as you type.
  • Code or rendered preview: switch between the optimized SVG source and a live visual render to confirm nothing broke.

FAQ

Does Coordinate Precision round every shape?
It rounds numeric coordinates only inside path d="..." attributes. Direct attributes on other shapes (a <circle>'s cx/cy/r, a <rect>'s x/y, etc.) are left as-is.
What does "Remove metadata & doctype" actually strip?
The XML declaration and DOCTYPE header are always removed regardless of this checkbox. The checkbox additionally controls whether <metadata> blocks are stripped out.
Which editor namespaces get cleaned up?
Vendor-specific attributes and namespace declarations from Sketch, Inkscape, Sodipodi, Vectornator, Illustrator, and Adobe: the tags editors embed that have no visual effect in a browser.
Can I see the result rendered, not just as code?
Yes. Switch to the "Live Preview" tab next to "SVG Code" to render the optimized output directly, so you can confirm optimization didn't break anything visually.
Can I copy a Data URI instead of raw SVG markup?
Yes. "Copy Data URI" encodes the optimized SVG as a data:image/svg+xml,... string ready to paste into a CSS background-image or an <img src>.
