About This Tool

Translates plain text into International Morse Code and decodes Morse signals back into legible English letters, numbers, and symbols.

Features a built-in browser audio oscillator based on the PARIS timing standard: play genuine CW radio beeps with customizable WPM speeds and tone pitches.

Includes a visual signal flasher, customizable dot and dash characters, and a full ITU Morse code alphabet chart.

Key Features

  • Bidirectional Translation: Convert English text to Morse code or decode dot-and-dash sequences back to plain text.
  • Web Audio Beep Synthesizer: Listen to Morse code with standard PARIS cadence, adjustable WPM (5 to 45 WPM), and pitch control (400 to 900 Hz).
  • Visual Flasher Light: Watch a synchronized flashing signal light pulse in real time alongside audio playback.
  • Custom Separators & Symbols: Configure custom word separators (slash, newline, triple space) and dot/dash glyphs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the standard timing standard for Morse code speed?
The international standard uses the word "PARIS" as the timing benchmark. At 20 WPM, one unit (dit) lasts exactly 60 milliseconds. A dah lasts 3 units, spaces between dits and dahs last 1 unit, letter spaces last 3 units, and word pauses last 7 units.
How do I distinguish letters from words in Morse code?
By default, individual letters are separated by a single space (e.g., "... --- ...") and words are separated by a slash enclosed in spaces (" / ").
Does this tool transmit any sound or text to an external server?
No. All text parsing, translation, and audio synthesis happen 100% inside your browser using the HTML5 Web Audio API.
