About This Tool

Swagger OpenAPI Editor Viewer provides an in-browser interface for inspecting REST API documentation specifications. It parses both JSON and YAML documents without installing heavy Java-based runtimes or external dependencies.

Endpoints are grouped by tags, and every operation displays its HTTP method, path parameters, query parameters, request body payloads, and documented HTTP response status codes.

Key Features

  • OpenAPI 3.x & Swagger 2.0 Support: Seamlessly recognizes both modern OpenAPI 3.0/3.1 and legacy Swagger 2.0 specifications in JSON or YAML format.
  • Interactive Tag Explorer: Endpoints are organized into collapsible tag sections with fast search filtering by path or summary.
  • Full Parameter & Body Inspection: Lists path, query, header parameters, request content types, and HTTP response schemas.
  • Zero Server Execution: Your proprietary API contracts, internal URLs, and schema definitions never leave your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I paste YAML or does it only accept JSON?
Both YAML and JSON are supported. The parser automatically detects JSON or parses indented YAML formatting directly in your browser.
How are schema references ($ref) handled?
The viewer inspects top-level components.schemas or definitions and displays inline schema shapes or referenced definitions where provided.
Does this tool send network requests to the target API servers?
No. This is a static documentation viewer and validator. It never issues outbound HTTP calls to the servers described in your API contract.
